I have 4 PCs on a home network, which consists of a DSL Modem connected to a Netgear Router. Each PC is connected to a separte port on the router, and a Samsung CLP500 colour laser printer connects to PC 1 via the parrallel port, which has Vista Ultimate installed. The remaining PCs are XP Pro.

The problem.

After installing the Samsung CLP500 print driver on PC 1 (Vista PC), only the Vista PC can see the printer and print (colour does work). If the printer is located on any of the XP PCs, the Vista PC cannot print in colour. Note original print driver installed on all XP PCs, and latest Vista print driver installed on Vista PC.

I just installed a IOGear wireless print server.
It was a headache to get it it work but I finally got it.

I'm on a Laptop connected to wirelss network

Anyway, I can print just fine if I turn off the Vista firewall but it will error out if it is turned on.

I have added ports in the firewall for certain program before but I don't know how in add a print server to be allowed.

The printer seems to install fine. Just takes forever to open (30 seconds) and like 10 minutes to send a simple text print job. I have turned both firewalls off. PC's are on same subnet. PC's are on same workgroup. I have tried deleting and reinstalling. HP's site says for vista i don't need drivers.

Ideas?

I installed a new printer on our server all of the computers except the ones with windows vista print fine from it, the vista machines will not print to it.
