I have partitions as follows:

Partition1 (Active): Windows Vista Installed
Partition2 : Windows XP Installed
Partition3: Just for docs.

I can boot to both of the OS's by setting each of the partitions to active.

WHen im in vista i have edited the {ntldr} entry in bcdedit and tried everything to get it to load xp from the second partition.

One thing i cant understand but have tried with and without is the "path" option. How can it be setting it to \ntldr when i have not got a folder called ntldr on any parition.

I have set partition to D: and to E: and no luck..

Remove 2nd Vista dual boot?

I did the recommended "try it first" XP dual boot with Vista on a partition D:, I liked it and did a clean install over XP on C:.... now I have two copies of Vista and want to get rid of the first one on D: to get rid of the dual boot.

Can I just delete or format the D: partition?
Thanks
Stans

I am having problems booting XP professional, will only boot in safe mode. I want to upgrade to Vista anyway, will purchasing and loading Vista be unwise or will it just overrule the XP problem?
