Bizarre E-mail Problem and Vista

Sun, 2007-03-18 02:03 - Topics:

Alright, so before upgrading to Vista I used Office 2003 with XP pro. I upgrade to Vista, and grab Office 2007 as well and am using Outlook to do my e-mail. Now for some strange reason, I cannot get Outlook to work with Comcast mail.

Pretty standard.

So I try for awhile, and it doesn't work. So I think oh, Outlook 2007 is acting weird, so I download thunderbird and... nope, that won't sync either. So, I'm thinking, ah, must have changed something in my router. So to check I go set up my e-mail on another computer running XP and.... it worked! So, now I'm thinking, ah, Vista and e-mail just don't work!

USB "plug and play" ? Not in Vista

Some of my devices are recognised in one USB port and not another.
My USB printer only works when my USB wireless modem is not plugged into a specific USB port - my wireless modem only works in that same USB.
All devices were present during Vista installation.
I have 4 USB ports in a PCI expansion port - nolne of these work for most of my devices.
Can anyone offer a glimmer of hope and advise what I can do next (preferably not "try every device in every port")?

Wireless connection problem - drop outs & poor signal

Hi guys I recently purchased a new HP Pavilion laptop which came with Vista Home Premium and I have been having constant drop outs and connection problems with my laptop and wireless billion modem/router (BIPAC-743GE). My connection strength is never above 60% - Always on Good connection, never goes up to Very Good or Excellent - my old Laptop which had Windows XP always had Very Good and Excellent connections. It also never had drop outs.

What I mean by 'drop outs', is that after a period of time being connected to the modem/router, my laptop will disconnect (not entirely) from the modem/router and I end up with a Limited Connection (Local Only). This happens after being connected for only 2 hours or so *the time varies every now and then* When I try to disconnect from the modem/router and try to reconnect, my laptop cannot find any wireless connections until I actually restart the laptop. Also, I am using the HP Wireless Assistant which came preinstalled.
