i just got vista with my laptop, and i cant connect to a unsecure wirelessnetwork, sometimes I'll be able to but the Internet doesn't even work... (like I can't surf the net or anything)Is there a way to make this work?thanks in advance

I have just bought an Acer 9301 notebook and cannot connect to wireless internet although the computer recognises the signal from my router. Whenever I try to connect, it says immediately that it is impossible and that I should contact my system administrator. Friends have told me to try and sort out the router/notebook configuration (WEP?) but the two systems seem to coincide. I have also tried every other troublshooting option on the help page but, to tell you the truth, I don't really understand what the final objectives are. What do you think could be wrong with my set up? Is there anything obvious I am missing?

My roommate got a new Dell laptop with wireless today. She had no problem using the router with her old XP laptop, and I'm still connected to it just fine on my own XP laptop. It shows that she's connected, but nothing loads and it's not transferring data. What to do?

I've installed a wireless card thing into a PCI slot that enables wireless internet, when I try to start the included Wireless Configuration Utility it makes a Vista noise and nothing happens. Compatibility mode doesn't work, please help, how can I get this to work so I can get wireless internet on my Vista? THANKS!
