Blue Screen error on HP Pavilion dv6137tx (WebCamera Driver problems!)

Hi

I have a HP Pavilion dv6137tx (dv6000t series) notebook computer running Windows XP Home Premium Edition (clean install over Windows XP Media Center Edition). By default, the integrated web camera is not recognized by Windows Vista so I have to install the firmware update for the camera, after which it does work in Vista but when I restart the computer, I get a blue screen error for the following file:

r5u870flx.sys

The only way out of this is to start Safe Mode with Command Prompt and rename the two files r5u870flx86.sys and r5u870fux86.sys in c:\windows\system32\drivers\ to r5u870flx86.sys.old and r5u870fux86.sys.old. The system then boots normally.

I have read all of the posts on this subject but they really do not help me. I have a dell computer that had Windows Xp Media Center on it. As part of my deal I got the free upgrade to Vista. Instead of doing research on Vista first though I just...

HELP! I'm Selling My Computer w/ Vista Ultimate BUT....

I am returning a computer I bought and I manually installed Windows Vista Ultimate on it BUT I have to format the hard drive and return the computer to Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 before returning it. Vista Ultimate cost a WHOLE lot and I don't want to have to throw it away because I installed it on a computer that won't ever use it. What do I do? Is there a way to "transfer" registration from one computer to the next?

Vista Won't Install

Prior to buying Vista Home Premium, I upgraded to new motherboard, new CPU (Intel Core 2 e6600), new video card, big power supply, 4GB ram...well, an entire new computer. I ran the pre-install advisor and removed a couple of programs as recommended.

First I tried the upgrade path from Windows XP Media Center Edition...wanting to keep my software and settings in place. The install started out OK...I saw a message on screen that said this could take several hours, so I went away...and came back the next morning. I had a blank screen and and no activity from the computer...just fan noise. I powered down and re-booted...same result. Again I reboot and choose windows install at the final screen...get the message that the install failed - and went back to XP.
