I'm wanting to install another hard drive in my computer and make it a secondary hard drive. Then I want to install another copy of OEM windows xp home on it. can I use the same key code that I use on my first hard drive? or do I need to purchace another key?

Hello everyone............I just ordered a copy of Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade. I think I am going to get an external hard drive to backup my current Windows XP Home. I have never done this before so I had a few questions.
I have a 100 GB Hard Drive on my laptop. I am using 50 GB, and have 50 GB free. If I backup everything on my computer now to my new external hard drive, which will probably be a 100 GB, will that keep windows xp, and everything just like it is on my computer?
If I don't happen to like Vista on my laptop, can I just plug the external hard drive in to my laptop and reload XP and my software programs, files, and settings?
