I use Gmail as my default E-mail program, so I wanted easy access on the desktop. So I dragged the little picture from the Url bar onto my desktop. When I double clicked it Firefox opened a new tab and gave me a blank page with this in the Url bar. file:///C:/Users/Tadd/Desktop/Gmail.url (My name is Tadd). It also said done in the bottom left hand corner. So I tried making a internet shortcut by right clicking, I got the same result. So for the hell of it I tried it in the quick launch bar. Whenever I use IE 7 and close the window, there is another window still open that says about:blank in the URL bar. The window will not close and I must use Task Manager to close it. I am sure that I have no viruses or spyware. I run Spy Sweeper and it doesn't find anything. Firefox runs with no problems. Have any others had this problem? What is the fix? Thanks for any help.
