There has been some discussion here and in other places of the difficulty of handling disputes in Second Life. I have given some thought to creating a dispute resolution mechanism through TSL. Essentially, parties to a dispute would have to mutually agree (consent) to allow TSL to hear the dispute. (Jurisdiction). An uninterested 3rd party would hear the dispute and attempt to reach a conclusion based on the facts (I'm thinking this could be a very interesting project for my law school to get involved in).I want to know your thoughts on the need for a dispute resolution mechanism. Do we need one? What should its limits be? What types of cases should it hear? Please let me know your thoughts. It is quite a large undertaking to develop a system and before I set out on doing so, I want your feedback.
