FireFox – Modify or Not Modify

Mozilla Firefox is the second most popular Internet browser in use. It is only eclipsed by Microsoft's Internet Explorer. While Internet Explorer comes bundled with the Microsoft operating system, Firefox can be easily downloaded from Mozilla's web site for free. Currently, Firefox is running version 3.0 which was released on July 16, 2008. Since Firefox runs on an open source software platform, this means that it can be tweaked, added to and otherwise modified to a user's specification.

Is there anyway to lower the amount of memory vista eats up?

i disabled all the visuals so im viewing vista in the classic theme.

disabled indexing too

i want to tweak up vista so it runs super quick and smooth. i dont care about visuals or eye candies.

just security and speed.

i use NOD32 for my antivirus.
Firefox for browsing.

Ultimately i want to cut the amount of memory used in half or less if possible.

thank you.

Font and Text Size Help

I recently upgraded my Dell M1210 laptop to Vista and even with XP I had to do a lot of tweaking to get the screen acceptable to my aging eyes, now I'm having a great deal of difficulty learning how to tweak all the things I had done in XP to make everything on the screen readable.

I've used the dell quickset to change the size of the icons and toolbars, but now the toolbars are huge and so are the icons.
Oh and yes, I've gone to view and changed text size, plus I've done the accessibility ignore font size on specific webpages. I tried changing the resolution to 120 dpi but whewee everything became so fuzzy it was horrible.
