I was using the grub bootloader for my triple boot vista / xp /ubuntu system. It is possible to adjust the grub bootloader to provide it with an image (for a graphical background while showing the bootloader).
But the problem with grub is that you cant choose xp or vista directly from the grub bootloader, it goes to the vista bootloader to let you choose between vista or xp.
Now I found a solution to use the Vista bootloader for all 3 OS to directly boot from (which saves me a hit on the enter key 
). This is working great and I'm currently still using the Vista bootloader.
