When I download something over the internet I've noticed that my computer starts slowing down. My mouse starts lagging, my media player starts stuttering.I opened up Task Manager and looked at the memory usage but it seems normal. The top memory...
I've just upgraded my ram, and when I now run vista it (with only the new module in) vista boots up fine, and you can log on, and if you go into task manager you can see that it recognises the new RAM, however, about 20 secconds later, it blue screens, if I boot up in Safe Mode, it works fine, and I can throw anything at it (in terms of apps) I have my computer set up in a dual boot configuration ...
Whenever I use IE 7 and close the window, there is another window still open that says about:blank in the URL bar. The window will not close and I must use Task Manager to close it. I am sure that I have no viruses or spyware. I run Spy Sweeper and it doesn't find anything. Firefox runs with no problems. Have any others had this problem? What is the fix? Thanks for any help.

have you defraged? Open your task manager and see what's running (ctrl + alt + del)
I even tried closing all my gadgets, task manager still says sidebar.exe is using 520MB of memory. I have 3GB of memory so its not slowing down my system, but this makes no sense.
I closed sidebar and opened it again and it is only now using 22MB. but if i leave it for a while it will go back to 520MB.
Apologese if this is in the wrong section.
Anyone else noticed this:
When running through a Guided Help (e.g. Finding your IP Address) if you click anywhere during Vista showing you how to do it you get a prompt which says do you want to exit the guide etc. If you then open the Snipping Tool you are unable to do a snip / close snipping tool or click anything.
So you can open Task Manager but are unable to click Applications to end anything. This has happened to me on 3 Vista machines (all Enterprise).
Anyone else notice this / know why it happens?
A few months back I bought a Zune. It worked well with XP and now I have installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit and it is not working well, This also ocurrs in the 32 bit version of Vista. The Zune software installs, it updated the firmware in my Zune and the Zune is detected but the software will not work. When I get to the screen where the Zune is detected in the software it locks up when I click to register my zune (not registering it as a guest Zune). It starts to try and delete all the files on the Zune but then freezes and I have to go to the task manager and stop the software.
