Blue Screen error on HP Pavilion dv6137tx (WebCamera Driver problems!)

Fri, 2007-04-27 14:11 - Topics:

Hi

I have a HP Pavilion dv6137tx (dv6000t series) notebook computer running Windows XP Home Premium Edition (clean install over Windows XP Media Center Edition). By default, the integrated web camera is not recognized by Windows Vista so I have to install the firmware update for the camera, after which it does work in Vista but when I restart the computer, I get a blue screen error for the following file:

r5u870flx.sys

The only way out of this is to start Safe Mode with Command Prompt and rename the two files r5u870flx86.sys and r5u870fux86.sys in c:\windows\system32\drivers\ to r5u870flx86.sys.old and r5u870fux86.sys.old. The system then boots normally.

BSOD MUP_FILE_SYSTEM

Hi,

I've just upgraded XP Pro SP2 to Vista Business. Other than having
Daemontools installed (stpd.sys problem) during the install, everything
seemed to go ok. Now that I've got it up and running, I have the following
problem:

One of my four users (the main account, my account) always gets a blue
screen of death when logging in with a message about MUP_FILE_SYSTEM error.
The desktop is never shown. All other users are ok and the system seems to
behave properly when they log in. When booting into safe mode, the problem
user can also login ok.

vista wont boot after installing todays update!

I installed the update released today (4/3/07) (I don't know what the update number is, sorry)

After I installed the update and finished what I was working on I restarted my computer. When I try to boot into vista I get an error. It says that this driver is corrupt:

\Windows\system32\drivers\wdf01000.sys

The error status is:

0xc0000221

It tells me to put in my install disk and do a system repair. I tired that masny times in many different ways but it didn't help. System repair said it cannot repair the file due to error:

0x246

Supposedly corrupt files found

This is the a log excerpt (there are several more of the same) and may very well explain why my HP installed Norton tools are not being detected?
How to fix?

Thanks in advance.

System Restore

Vista system restore has too many restore points and takes alot of unneccessary disk space. In XP we could adjust the amount as we wanted it.However in Vista we were made to believe that this could not be done..or could it be?? I came across this article in Google..see what you think..Most important question ..is it safe to do it ?

Vista will not complete install, BSOD just before startup

Vista will not complete install, BSOD just before startup.
I have tried to install Vista Ultimate on my machine over and over, both 64 and 32 bit versions. It goes all the way through the install with out a hitch and just after the screen that says "Vista is about to start for the first time" I get a BSOD saying:

*** STOP: 0x00000116 (0xFFFFA8004179AC0,0xFFFFF98003A5A340, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002)

*** nvlddmkm.sys - Address FFFFF98003A5A340 base at FFFFF98003A55000, DateStamp 452e7567

I've removed all hardware but my video card. I've got the latest bios and it still won't complete the install. I've also got the latest nvidia bata and normal video drivers unzipped on a USB stick. I try to install them when Vista returns the install and repair screen. It sees the drivers and asks what card to install the drivers for, but says that it fails to apply the drivers. Not even sure if I can apply the drivers that way.
