Ever since I have installed Vista my mic has been impossible to hear, on Skype, Stickam or even recording videos they level of volume is pathetic and you can barely make it out. I have a built in mic that was fine until I installed Vista and I even went out and bought a headset mic for Skype but its the same.
I have my mic in sounds turned up, I even went and put the mic booster on and still hardly a difference.
Anyone know whats going on?

sorry bout caps. i'm trying to get footage from my dv cam and am having problems, it installed the drivers and said it was ready to use, how ever none of my capture software reconises any devices. i've ahd a look around my pc and cant seem to find its existence at all, however when i switch it on the tone sounds and if i go to safely remove software its clearly labelled....? my friend said i need to update my firewire capture driver, and that windows would be able to provide this. any suggestions?
