Driver is missing or corrupted

much to my suprise windows vista has been running extremely smoothly on my computer this was untill i could not log on to my computer everytime i turn on my computer i get an error message
Windows Failed to Start a recent hardware or software change may be the cause, to fix this probelm
1. insert your windows installation disk and restart your computer
2. choose language settings
3. click repair my computer
File Windows\System32\drivers\sfssync02.sys
Status 0xc0000098
I have tried taking these steps but it always comes up with the same screen could someone please give me an easy step by step guide on doing this? I think i have all the disks necessary
