Self-described 'Joe Sixpack' Sarah Palin in a champagne tax bracket
Sarah Palin says she's a "normal Joe Sixpack American." But she can afford the imported stuff.
Palin and her husband are worth more than $1.2 million, thanks to a combination of their salaries, lucrative fishing rights and snowmobile prize money, according to an Associated Press estimate of their finances.
The GOP veep pick's 2007 Alaska gubernatorial salary was $125,000. She collected an additional $17,000 in per diems for more than 300 nights she spent in her own home, as well as more than $43,000 to cover travel costs for her husband and kids.
