This may seem like a silly question but I see the voting machines in some places and I'm curious what the point is. In search rankings seem to be either on subject name or traffic ranking and at this point I can't figure out what benefit having a lot of votes or a few really brings. I would appreciate anyone letting me know what the benefits are of having a voting machine and whether those benefits are worthwhile. Hi I am new to Vista although experienced in XP.
I have bought a new laptop with Vista Home Premium pre installed. When I untick the hide protected operating system files in explorer, I get a whole load of shortuts that I am denied access to. These shortcuts have no target when the properties are viewed. They have names such as "My Documents" "My Music" etc. these used to be folder names in XP.
Anybody any ideas what they are for.
