Discovering Devices On The Network

Has anyone noticed that when you go on 'Network' in Vista, it doesn't always find everything it should, even when refreshed.

For example, in this house at the moment, there are two computers, this one and another downstairs. If I open the 'Network', only this computer is listed. The strange thing is though, if I type in the name of the other computer that isn't showing (eg. //COLLETTE) in the address bar, it shows all the shared folders and printers etc.. on that computer without a problem. But even after that and I go back into the Network, that computer doesn't appear on the list.

Can't copy across network

I cannot successfully copy files from my laptop to my media centre PC (HTPC) across the wireless network.

Both machines are running fresh installs of Vista Home Premium (retail version, not beta).
Network works fine on both PCs, including Internet access and both can 'see' shared folders on each other.

The problem comes when I try to copy files from the laptop to the HTPC (and vice versa). It seems to work fine if I log into the HTPC and copy a file FROM the laptop...this is not what I want - I want to 'send' a file from the laptop to the HTPC. This worked perfectly with XP on the HTPC and Vista on the laptop.
