Look,
I just got windows vista yesterday, and failed to install. I Have p4 1.6GHz, stock, 768MB RAM, X1600 pro AGP 4x agp speed, DVD DRIVE, sound card, dial up modem, LAN card, 300W PSU. And when i try top install vist this happens:
Recap:
1. boot disc with dvd
2. not put in key when it comes, and choase vista prem, one he bought.
3. installed, restarted A COUPLE OF TIMES IN INSTALLATION.
4. at 60% of installation, when he was completeing inaLLation, the screen went black, and 2 sec later, a vertical line apeared top left corner, and then a blue screen apeared with some writeing, and 3 out of 4 to way bottom, there was a counter 1-100, and it went in a split second. ALL HE COULD MAKE OUT FROM THE MESSAGE WAS,: hardware, vendor, hard, driver, itechnical information (000000x0000) x (00000x00) (something like that) then it restarted, and kept doing same message restarting all night. help. the other time my friend tried to do a clean installation from xp, and it was succss, untill thecmpleting instalation, message, and when it restarted there was a list: old windows, windows vista, and windows setup rollback, i tried windos vist, and message came, so i tried windows rollback, and it sais the installation was not success full, and it set my settings back for me to use win xp, again.
I have a directory that I backed up that is 7 GB. It is taking 15 minutes to transfer that from a USB 2.0 external drive to my machine (10.2 MB/sec). That is USB 1.1 speed, no? Apparently no problems on the install...but my USB 2.0 is no longer working as a 2.0. Any suggestions?
My motherboard is an ASUS a7n8x and my USB drive is an acomdata high speed usb drive. I can't find any updated drivers for either of them. There is a dynex hub in between...but no drivers for that either (none ever came with). So what do I do?
