i have a compaq v3000 which equip wit AMD turion64X2 TL 50 1Gb Ram n nvidia and OEM vista basic. My problem is everytime when i burn a disc , or install a program, there is a msg appear for confirmation either to continue or cancel. As soon as i pressed to continue the screen goes blank (looks quite similar like a sleep mode) then i automatic appears again after app 2 sec. or it will appear after i press any keys. it seems to be quite annoying. please advise

You must get new, updated computer. never let a computer get older than 2 mos., you only ask for trouble if you do.

when i press the power button my screen goes blank then reappears about 5 seconds later. I want this button to be able to turn my system off completely. I have gone into power options and defined the power button to shut down but it does not happen.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong ?

Whenever I execute "Sleep", the monitor screen goes blank as it should, disk chatter goes through the roof then the display comes back on with the keyboard disabled. I have allowed Vista to turn off the ADSL modem 'to save power' and have not...
