Try a System Restore to see if that resolves the problem: Open System Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.‌ If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

EVERY time I click on a folder that contains MPEGs or I click on an MPEG file, I get this message. Does anyone have any clue as to why this is happening? the exact error message is as follows:

Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

blink.gif This is getting incredibly annoying seeing as how I edit alot of videos and a new message pops up for every file clicked. mad.gif

Layout.ini in Vista

I was used to optimising the prefetch making a huge difference in my XP system. I had a look in the new prefetch folder which is obviously now filled with quite a lot more stuff.

The one thing that is missing after I ran the TweakVI prefetch reset tool is that there is no layout.ini file in there.

Do you rebuild the layout.ini in a different way as the old command has no effect.

Im running Home Premium which may account for the fact that I cant turn off and on the Task Scheduler - a trick I found if the layout.ini wont show up when rebuilding with rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks.
