Calculating Traffic/Dwell

I was trying to find out how traffic scores are calculated.
The Knowlege base (http://secondlife.com/knowledgebase/article.php?id=278)
simply points to the history Wiki (http://slhistory.org/index.php/Traffic)
My own tests bear out that this is not the way traffic is currently calculated. I did a search of the closed Linden forums and found some relavant articles. Other people seem to agree.
