Recover Vista From Upgrade Redemption?

Hi People,

Something has crossed my mind.

I purchased my Acer laptop in December 2006 and a few days ago got my Vista disc (via upgrade redemption). When using Windows Media Centre Edition i had Acer eRecovery program to recover the computer back to manufacturer default settings incase i had to do a complete reinstall.

When i had my vista disc i had "Vista Upgrade Disc" and "Acer Upgrade Wizard" (to install drivers etc)

But what would or could i do if i needed to install Vista?

I never do repair as i think they are utter waste of time and i dont see any options or find any info i want i would do if this happened to me.

Seems like the ModusLink site now shows that validated orders will be shipped out in March.

But, unfortunately, as to WHEN? in March, remains to be seen.

Earlier rather than later, I hope!

If anyone has more info, please post.

Thanks.

Hi,

I will tell you my disaster story as some of you on here may have the same problem and not know about it.

I redeemed my upgrade for Vista Home Premium a few weeks ago, about 7 days later it said COA/POP Validated. I contacted Moduslink via email to ask when i will get my disc and a few days later they replied saying my "COS IS INVALID" but online it was showing "COA/POP VALIDATED"

REASON: When i made my order and if you are in the UK Moduslink said many peoples Debit Cards are being rejectd by the system and you can only pay by Credit Card.

So i contacted Modulink on 00800 783 6414 (United Kingdom) and they said i will need make a new order as my debit card was declined.

Vista Redemption problem

I was planning to wait until Vista was launched before purchasing a new PC but with the Vista Redemption scheme I went ahead in early December. Since then I've been trying to redeem the Vista voucher through Moduslink (Microsoft contractors) but each time I get a massage saying the COA is invalid. I have sent several email to Moduslink, and the PC supplier, and so far Moduslink have only sent an acknowledgment and a message saying 'try again', which I did, and still got the COA invalid message.

The information has been entered correctly and my PC supplier is a reputably UK company.
