I received my new computer a few days ago from ABS and I've been plagued with Blue Screen crashes during Quake 4, Battlefield 2142 and DVD movie playback (with WMP and WMC). The crashes come randomly. Sometimes it happens within minutes of loading...

I'm playing single-player and when it finishes loading it has a black-screen?
A plain black screen.
I tried going to Properties->Run in->Windows XP SP2
Amd it's still a black screen.
Is this a Direct X 10 problem?
Thanks in Advance.

Vista Gaming Performance

A few weeks ago I posted about my gaming performance with Vista, and the consensus was that the NVIDIA drivers were just bad. Well I got newer ones, and no performance increase. Quake 4 runs like crap no matter what the settings are, and so does Half Life 2. I have shut down all programs that I can, ran in xp compatibility mode, and disabled visual themes, which does about nothing.
System:
Athlon 2600 XP
Asus A7N8X Mobo
768mbs of DDR 400
Geforce 6600gt
I know the ram is low, but still. Does Vista's ram consumption really change my framerates by 50+fps for these games?

Gaming Extremely Sluggish

Until today I wasn't gaming with Vista. The OS as a whole seemed a bit sluggish compared to XP, but I figured thats normal for a system like mine with all the goodies turned on. I installed Quake 4, and Hl2 today, and was very disappointed in the results. Even on the lowest settings Quake 4 ran horribly, and the Source Stress Test, came back at 30fps. which is about 70fps lower than it used to be. Not only that, but it isn't even a playable 30fps. The framerate is all over the place. I have the latest drivers for everything, I've disabled all the visual themes, ran in xp compatibility mode, but still things are sluggish.
