Appearing this morning on Apple.com was the refresh of the company's most powerful desktop class computer, the Mac Pro. The new tower comes with either dual quad-core CPUs (for a total of eight cores) or dual, dual-core CPUs (for a total of four):

Or choose a quad-core Mac Pro featuring two Dual-Core Intel Xeon "Woodcrest" processors and decide how fast they fly: 2.0GHz, 2.66GHz, or 3.0GHz. At 3.0GHz, the quad-core Mac Pro runs up to 2x faster than the Power Mac G5 Quad.

I dont knkow if this was ever covered here but we can all use our PC's to cure cancer and more through an application known as Folding@Home. PS3 are capable of running as well. A simple home computer running this solo would take 30 years to complete what is being done in miliseconds through thousands of processors around the world.

So when out to work, lunch or more contribute by using your pc to cure diseases through creating cell's that scientists will use.

Just an idea if any admin or mod are interested post a number that we will use if you want to contribute as well. They post the results by team and I figured we could all band together to help.

I have a Compaq presario with a Celeron D (3.2ghz) cpu and I want to get a better chip with dual core/hyper threading. I am running RC1 for os. My specs say pc supports Pentium 4 and Pentium D processors. Can someone tell me if I would have any...
