I always thought that Windows just fixes the problem than continues. I ask this because I brought my computer out of sleep and because I don't have the perfect computer for speed, I didn't wait for it to finish booting up and I tried to shut down, it hung for a few minutes and then a message pops up and says something about the user account not logging off or something, I don't remember.

I have recently purchased a sony vaio laptop with vista home premium for my wife. Every time she starts it up a small window opens saying register at club vaio for the latest greatest blah blah blah. It pops up every time the computer is started...

Hey guys, im trying to install adobe programs such as illustrator and photoshop, but once i complete the installation, and i try to run it, usually next thing that happens is an activation screen that pops up. I'm just getting an error window that pops up saying "you are not allowed to continue because your account doesn't have the proper privileges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again"
Im the only person on this computer with the only account that has administrator power. ?? is there something i must turn on ??

Ok one of the first things I did after getting my HP dv9210us was to run msconfig and get rid of all the un-needed crap that would start on boot up. Only now I get an annoying bubble that pops up every 5 minutes saying "Windows has blocked some programs from starting" or something to that effect. Is there anyway to keep that bubble from popping up all the time?

Firefox just asked for Admin privileges, so I automatically granted them.However after thinking about it I realised that its never needed them before and I'm starting to get annoyed by the "This Program Need Your Permission" dialogue that pops up...

i have had a laptop now for about three months. the laptop came with both windows vista home basic & norton internet suite (anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, whole nine yards) already installed on the machine. here is the problem -- i am not able to listen to any of the music clips available for the cd's sold at amazon nor am i able to listen to the music player at the sirius satellite radio website. i was able to listen to both of them for the first month or so then, suddenly, neither would work anymore. on occasion the computer would crash when listening to certain tracks at amazon but it would restart then i could go back to amazon and listen to other tracks.

This error pops up at totally random times. One time it wouldnt allow me to access the internet, but another time the message came up, i was able to get on the internet. another time it went off and i couldnt access my usb flash drives.

So what is it, and why is it ending?
