In the ever increasing socialness of the web, everything from news to photos to videos are being shared. Outside of ShareThis, I’m not to familiar with other sites or services that are exclusively centered around sharing items across the web. During the past week, I was tipped off to a new service that has launched called Tell A Friend.

The first day of activity at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Down Under conference on Australia's Gold Coast is winding down as I write this. The time here at the Sheraton Mirage Resort is 10:30pm Monday night, which is 7:30 Monday morning back at our home base in Tampa, Florida where it is 15 hours earlier than it is here on the beautiful Queensland coastline. I’ve admitted it before: I have a crush on Animoto. The service does one thing really, really well. It turns photos into slideshows, with music, instantly.

The site has done extremely well. As competitors like Slide and RockYou have wandered off to create countless useless Facebook applications, Animoto has stuck to creating really cool photo slideshows. As of August, Animoto had 250,000 users in 200 countries and 4 million or so videos have been viewed 50 million times.

Polaroid 2.0: Not as groovy as the original but still fun

Ask your parents, and they'll probably tell you Polaroid cameras were the iPhone of their day. I'm not that old, but I still remember them being all the rage when I was growing up because you could see your snapshots almost instantaneously. Thank goodness for the digital camera though, because no matter how awesome Polaroids were, the quality of those photos was just terrible.
