Just order in MOBO from ASrock & the Core2 E6600!!!!!!!!!! Cant wait to fit them.
I have been holding off on "activating" my Vista OEM on my new build until I see if the hardware is good and stable. My theory is that if the mobo dies prematurely I won't be stuck with a useless copy of the O/S. Does anyone else use the same...
I am trying to load Vista onto a clean sata hardrive. it is a 74 gig raptor.my mobo is a asus a7n8xeshortly into the install vista begins to ask for drivers for a drive and shows a dialog box whereall available drives it found should be listed...
Right now, I have a pretty good system, but as is the usual story, I want more out of it.
I've been looking at switching to ATI's Crossfire. I know they make Crossfire mobo's with socket 939 (which is what I currently have). Right now, I'm running a Radeon X1050, Athlon 64 3700+, and 1 gig of DDR PC3200 RAM.
Not having a lot of money, I want to upgrade a little at a time. Is it going to be possible to buy a Crossfire 939 mobo, and have it be compatible with everything I have right now, and then later down the line, buy a couple of Crossfire graphics cards, and then after that, upgrade to more memory?
My old computer with xp installed, I have the full version in hard copy, had its mobo fry. I got a new hp laptop with vista pre installed. Can I Fdisk that can install my old xp on my new computer since I am no longer using that computer and I would...

Abit has my AB9-PRO listed as Vista ready... Even though they have NO drivers on their site or on the disk. I managed to get all the drivers for my mobo from the individual manufacturers except one... The uGuru utility. The one on Abit's site and...
I have an upgrade edition of Vista Ultimate edition. The problem I face is I am currently running XP Pro SP2, and my mobo has a built on Raid controller (HPT370/372). I ran the Vista Advisor and it says my HPT3xx is not compatible with Vista. I emailed the manufacturer and they state:
Hello,
We no longer develop for the individual HPT3x controllers.
You can try using the RR100 drivers (this card uses a similar controller), but we cannot guarantee it will work with your hardware.

My question is, if I perform and "Upgrade", will this "Vista beta" driver work? Or should I perform a clean install to "TEST" this driver, and see if it does work.
Im using an nForce4 Mobo with onbaord 7.1 audio, however, I cant get 7.1 working at all. All the drivers are up to date, downloaded off ASUS's website. I have removed, reinstalled, rebooted done all that, but cant get 7.1 to work.
Works fine in XP, but not here in Vista land. HELP PLEASE!
