Google violates iPhone API guidelines

Google has recently released a new version of it's Google Mobile application for the iPhone. This is the first time Google has made voice search available on a mobile device (Google Android users were not the first). In order to initiate a search, the iPhone is placed by your ear, as if making a call. The iPhone's proximity sensor detects this and the voice search initiates.

HOW TO: Convert Videos for Your iPhone (or Any Mobile Device)

Video on devices like the iPod, iTouch and iPhone look great because of their MPEG-4 H.264 format. The good news is that there are tons of videos that you can purchase from the iTunes store, but the bad news is that you’ll go broke in a hurry downloading everything you want. Sure, some of the videos aren’t much ($1.99 each), but the numbers add up really quickly.

hey guys,

Thia is going to sounds really stupid but ive been struggling for 3 hours to transfer the contacts from my MDA Vario III over to the Windows Mobile Device Centre!

In Windowes Mobile Device Centre after you have created a partner ship asks you whether you want the link to transfer music files, contacts, files etc - I ticked the contacts box and synchronised the device. It's all working fine except i can seem to access the contacts list - to check that the numbers from my phone were transferred onto my laptop for back-up.

Windows Mobile Device Center No Longer Beta

Sat, 2007-02-03 20:09 - Topics:

Here is a link to the non-beta Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). As indicated it finally is out of betaness. I have it installed and working very well with Bluetooth. The WMDC can always be sort of a pain with USB. So, if USB doesn't work right off, then I always get it working first with Bluetooth. On my real Vista laptop (and the later Vista betas, including RTM), I never got the WMDC beta to work with USB. Post back if you want info about installing. In general, it can be tricky to install.

Glue - publishing your content

GlueGlue is a new service by Squad that lets users publish and share content on the web using a mobile device or web browser. It allows you to upload photos, publish news and share your Glue on any website, blog, or community profile (ie: MySpace). You can look at it as a miniature news publishing tool. The way it works is simple: Create an account, add news, and do what you want with the content. Now, rather than Glue providing you with a website showing your content, it offers publishing options which you can use to get the content on your own website or profile. Available publishing options include: Flash, JavaScript, RSS, PHP, ASP, and XML. The Flash and JavaScript options are ideal for users that do not know how to program requiring you to only place a small snippet into your website. But for those of you who do know how to program, Glue is nice enough to offer complete code in PHP and ASP - great for developers wanting to integrate the content in applications. More on this in a bit. First, let’s take a look at what Glue has to offer.
