A recent article on Silicon Alley Insider noted that Motorola, whose cell phone business restructuring includes a “big bet on Google’s Android platform,” will wait until the next winter holiday season to roll out the first batch of what the web has been referring to as their first gPhone — Google Android-powered smartphone. Is this a big mistake?

Everyone makes mistakes, they say. Usually you can correct your error or just forget about it and move on. Making a mistake at work, however, can be more serious. It may cause problems for your employer and even affect the company's bottom line. Repercussions will ultimately trickle down to you. Simply correcting your mistake and moving on may not be an option. When you make a mistake at work your career may depend on what you do next.

Display Rotation & Keyboard Shortcut Fix

Tue, 2007-03-13 16:16 - Topics:

The shortcut Ctrl + Alt + Arrow key shortcut rotates the display in 90 degree increments. I found this by mistake. After a few minutes of figuring out how I ended up with my 2nd monitor (extended desktop) flipped 180 degrees. The display was upside down! I fooled around with different combinations: Ctrl + Alt +Arrow (up), Ctrl + Alt + Arrow (down), Ctrl + Alt + Arrow (left), and also Ctrl + Alt + Arrow (right) until I was able to orient the display normally again. Yeah!

The issue is when I reboot. The display on the 1st monitor reverts to a rotation of 90 degrees clockwise.

Is anyone familiar with this shortcut? If so, how do I correct or undo it. I am trying to avoid the need to correct this every time I boot!

Documents and Settings Link?

Sat, 2007-02-10 18:57 - Topics:

After my Vista Ultimate upgrade, I manually deleted the 'Documents and Settings' Symbolic link off of the C drive. Don't ask me why, I know it was a mistake. Is there any way for me to recreate this folder(Link) just the way that Vista does when it is installed? If I leave this folder deleted, I'm thinking there might be some compatibility issues later on... Thanks

Vista update error code: 80072F8F

Alright, so I've done enough research to know this is due to a sync problem between the Windows Update server, and the PC's - and the solution is to go into your windows clock, and adjust to the proper time... But wow, I've never seen this.

Look at the calender. Today is SATURDAY the 3rd. If I have to select the 3rd, I am forced to make it Friday... Um?

Have I done something stupid? rolleyes.gif blink.gif
