Over the many months we’ve been covering Twitter, talking about Twitter and using Twitter, one of the most common themes we keep coming back to is whether or not they’re ever going to decide to monetize the service, and how.

Interestingly enough, the idea has come back around, it would appear, and is being attempted by a European company called Magpie. The idea is simple: they’ll pay you for access to your Twitter account, and advertisers will pay them for tweets they send out in your name.

That is a common cliché among bloggers, make money online experts and web entrepreneurs. I am sure you heard it before. Heck, I used to give this advice myself. It goes like this:

If you want to make money online, you got pick a topic that you are passionate about. You need to love it, else it will not work.

I used to agree with it, one hundred percent.

Lately, however, I started questioning that rule. Creating a website on a topic that you love is certainly a good strategy, and it works well for many people, but I am not sure if it is the only way to go, or the best one.

Nice review of Infopirate:

Info Pirate offers an 80% revenue share for bookmarking sites. Their Google ads are small (small text at the bottom of the article descriptions) , so its unlikely that you will make good money using this site, but it is a good site for other reasons. Their layout is great and they have good content that will make you want to spend some time here.

Although I dont agree with "ads are small" thing, because less is more with Adsense and the bookmark pages contain an Adsense Ad at the top of the page.

Of course, the old, traditional routes to finance still remain, namely the major banks, but now, the commercial sector has many more options available and it is this which is one of the key reasons for thinking harder about who to use to support your loan application. Using the bank is potentially an easy option. They are likely to know more of the history of your business if you use them to look after your bank account but they are not likely to be as flexible as other options that may be available to you.
