Vista Mail - Will not allow more than 3 autocomplete email addresses

I am new to vista, when composing a new email address I like to add multiple addresses and I always use the autofill/autocomplete feature (I just start typing an address and Windows Mail will autocomplete the address from my contacts). This works fine for the first 3 addresses but if I add more than three address it will not autofill/autocomplete the addresses I start typing. Has anyone else had this experience?

Mail and Address Book

Hope I can explain this so it is understandable.

On a new computer with Vista Home Premium, I had no problem importing my OLE address book from the old machine. In OLE on the older computer, in the address book, I had a folder for SELDOM USED CONTACTS, email address I used once or twice a year. It was a folder that showed in the drop down menu when I composed a new message and clicked the little icon to the left of the address space. Clicking that icon brought up the address book and only the addresses I didn't have in the Seldom Used Folder showed. Since there weren't many of them it was easy to scroll through and pick the ones I wanted.

Unable to import messages into Windows Mail

When I select Import in Windows Mail, I get the message "Either there is no default mail client or or the current mail client cannot fulfil the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client"
I set Outlook to default on starting, however Vista still appears to think Windows Mail is the default when I look in Set Default Programs.

Basically all I want to use Outlook 2000 for, is to import mail and address book from my XP environment (where I used Outlook2000, and also Olutlook Express), then I keep Windows Mail. As it stands, I cannot import into either program so am scuppered!
