"Lost" is coming back, and sooner than you might think.Sources say ABC is scheduling a two-hour premiere for the fifth season debut of the Emmy-winning thriller on Wednesday, Jan. 21. The premiere will be preceded by a one-hour clip show (so three hours of "Lost" total). That means "Lost" is returning to its Wednesday-at-9 p.m. time period. The most recent fourth season aired on Thursdays -- first at 9 p.m., then shifting to 10 p.m. after "Grey's Anatomy" returned to air following the writers strike. The new premiere date is also slightly earlier than last season.

The Hindu : Front Page : Looks like the end of the line for lost whale calf

SYDNEY: Officials who had planned to euthanise an injured and abandoned baby whale postponed the operation on Thursday night after being unable to find the animal in the dark waters off north Sydney.Geoff Ross, a wildlife management officer, said the whale was possibly frightened and confused by the searchlights and the sound of the boats, and so they decided it would be easier to find the baby in the daylight. That is, if it survives the night.

Lost dualboot after fresh XP install, MS article 919529 not helping!

Thu, 2007-04-05 12:01 - Topics:

I had XP installed, installed Vista on top of it and had a nice dual boot setup for a while. Had to install a fresh copy of XP (formattted drive C) (Vista resides on E), and now have lost the dual boot configuration. I followed this article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919529/en-us

but it still just boots XP.

My question is, how do I modify XP so that it transfers control to bootmgr.exe instead of ntldr.exe? Can anyone help on exactly what happens when you have a dual boot and XP is your main drive? I'm interested in knowing how XP knows about the Vista boot menu.
