i actually tried to install xp a long time ago but i couldn't so i diced to buy vista then in the boot screen i need to chose vista and thats annoying because every time i turn my pc i need to chose vista and if i don't my pc crashes, how can i remove the " windows xp" from the boot screen so automatically go to vista???
It always stuck at "Calculating time remaining..." and copy much slower than XP!

I've been in contact with Microsoft for a very long time about this but they said there have been no other reports of this problem.
I upgraded to VISTA Ultimate from XP Pro on my computer, now everytime I boot the Windows installer starts to run, it terminates itself after about 5 or six attempts but everytime I bood it does the same thing.
Initially it was looking for an old MSI (Scan.MSI) that was from the installation of a scanner a LONG time ago, I think I was still using XP Home at the time. It would even stop and ask me to insert a CD. I no longer have the scanner or software with that MSI. I searched the registry and removed all references to that particular MSI, now instead of pausing and asking for a cd the installer just stars to run and terminates 5 or 6 times on boot. Since I only reboot my computer about once a day this is an annoyance, more than anything, since it only occurs on a cold boot, but I still would like to get it resolved.
I have a new emachines computer with Vista Home Basic. It takes a long time to try to format a CD-RW and when it completes it tells me that the format was unsuccessful.
Here's a shell mod I've been using for quite a long time. I don't remember when I started using it but I've always had it in some form on a CD or floppy or webserver etc. Basically it is a shell extension for explorer that adds a hidden file toggle and file extension toggle. See picture:
Obviously you can guess what they do from the picture. Hide/Unhide hidden files and Hide/Unhide extensions.
I wrote an installer (just a simple batch script) just extract the files and double-click on the file called 'installer' and it will copy the 2 files to system32 and then register them.
Hi,I have big plans, maybe too big plans. Buying an island, and building a replica of a european city centre. I´ve seen Amsterdam, but that did´nt look that much like the RL place.Anyone have an idea on how long time it would take to build 6-8 blocks of medeival city structure?
