Whenever I use IE 7 and close the window, there is another window still open that says about:blank in the URL bar. The window will not close and I must use Task Manager to close it. I am sure that I have no viruses or spyware. I run Spy Sweeper and it doesn't find anything. Firefox runs with no problems. Have any others had this problem? What is the fix? Thanks for any help.

When I first got my computer it logged into the desktop after typing in the password extremely quickly as computer usually due with fresh installs of the OS. But these days, it loads to the desktop and it has this 20-40 sec delay where the network monitor in the notifcation area indicates its not connected to the internet. I have the cpu monitor turned on in the sidebar and during that 20-40 sec delay the cpu is almost totally inactive. After the delay, it pegs near 80-90% while loading the remainder of the services like the network connected icon. What's weird is, although, the icon says its not connected, I can use IE 7 and I'm connected. If I open Outlook it hangs until the 40 delay and the services have fully loaded.
