On XP, I used Transcode360 to transcode DiVX movies through media center to play through my 360....
What programs work similarly with Vista? I tried Transcode360 and had a hell of a time getting it installed. In the end, it kept coming up with errors...

I have Vista Home Premium on a new machine and all is well with the exception that I can't play downloaded mp3 files. there are no problems with the various sample files that were present already, cd's can be ripped and played videos no problem.
I can play the songs on URGE until they are downloaded in library, then I can't. The problem exist regardless of where I purchased them from ie. URGE, Walmart, Yahoo. Sound like inability to validate licence?
Anyway I thought it might be a driver issue as it exist regardless of program. The error is C00D11B1 in WMP
The audio device is SigmaTel HD Audio CODEC.
