I was calculating how much hard drive space I had and found.

Everything under "add and remove programs" except windows update, Roxio and Bluetooth software

Add & remove programs added up to - 1.01GB
Roxio and Bluetooth probably use- 2GB (I'm guessing because windows didn't specify)
Windows update- 4GB (I'm guessing again because windows didn't specify)

Documents- 1.12GB
P2P program- 7.583GB
P2P Downloads in Progress- 17GB (when completed)
Music- 415MB
Pictures- 2MB
Desktop- 202MB
Total=39.72GB

My total Hard drive=80GB

Vista Won't Boot :(

Sat, 2007-04-21 18:18 - Topics:

Don't ask... but I've managed to compress the partition of my HD with my Vista install on (by checking the little box on the HD properties in Vista). So now whenever I try and boot up I get an error message saying
"BOOTMGR Compressed, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

I've already tried the stuff a google search brings up ie:

Win Vista DVD > Command Prompt>
C:
expand bootmgr temp
attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h

But I still get the error after i've done that. I've tried doing that for every archived file in the C: root directory and that still doesn't help. I've downloaded Hirens Boot CD and tried a load of tools on there (including zeroing my MBR and then getting windows vista to fix it with its auto-repair feature) and i still get the same message!

Boot Error, cannot access Vista Ultimate Installation

Fri, 2007-04-20 21:45 - Topics:

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to install Windows Vista Ultimate, i've had zero luck with that today. I've formatted my hd, ive removed some ram, tried a different dvd-rom and still no luck. Everytime the computer loads up and is looking for bootable devices it finds the Vista dvd, it does not even ask me to press a button to boot from dvd, it just jumps to a screen saying:

"the file is possibly corrupted. the file header checksum does not match the computed checksum"

My computer specs are the following:
LG DVD-ROM
P4 3.00ghz Hyperthreading
1gb ddr pc-3200
