Design vs functionality. What is important for your business project on the network?

One of the most common mistakes novice webmasters - design their sites. This is understandable, because in «offline» success of your business depends largely on what impression it makes. And the more money will be invested in it, so uspeshney will be the case.

Unfortunately, this rule does not fully apply to the Internet. In a network, there is a huge difference between beautiful and pleasant to the eye sites functional and user-friendly, which will have a better chance of success.

Make Drives appear on desktop as they are inserted?

I am looking to see if there's a setting somewhere or a small program that gives the functionality of what the title says. Basically on a make when you insert a flash disk or a CD it appears on your desktop as a drive and disappears when you disconnect it or take it out. Is there anything like this from Vista?

Can one set another folder to "Display as a Menu" ??

Fri, 2007-04-06 12:08 - Topics:

Now that I've done all the little things that made Vista actually run fairly well, I've found I really like the "Display as menu" option for the start menu. I like being able to see the cascading menu from my Documents link. However, I'd like to have this functionality for other folders not included in my personal directory -- does anyone know a way to do this or if it's even possible?

Many thanks!
Dave

Vista and Bios Time out of Sync

Sun, 2007-02-04 05:48 - Topics:

Today I install vista premium home build 6000, but 6 hours later, i was trying to run a bios update suggested by my motherboard maker, but I couldn't get it to update, so I tried resetting the BIOS, now im stuck with a vista that would load because I didnt verify the product key online in those 6 hours it wont let me use vista. It says I can activate online when I log in or use vista with reduced functionality, but I have a wireless card and cant access the internet, and my motherboard is quite old (going on 4 years I think) so I dont have a build in ethernet port. Is there anyway to correctly sync my time with the time vista has?

Why doesn't Explorer list folder sizes?

Sun, 2007-02-04 03:12 - Topics:

How many times have you misplaced a set of files or folders and had to go searching for them inside folders? Tried to clean and backup data and had to continuously right click and see properties for folder size information? Or delete from your CD/DVD burning software because the folder was too big? Why doesn't Vista have this functionality built in to view the size of the folders in Explorer when you "view by details"?
