windows doesnt recognize the files.

much to my suprise windows vista has been running extremely smoothly on my computer this was untill i could not log on to my computer everytime i turn on my computer i get an error message

Windows Failed to Start a recent hardware or software change may be the cause, to fix this probelm

1. insert your windows installation disk and restart your computer
2. choose language settings
3. click repair my computer

I have tried taking these steps but it always comes up with the same screen could someone please give me an easy step by step guide on doing this? I think i have all the disks necessary

just got a new computer two days ago and it has vista on it,i never used vista before.i downloaded a zip file of vista wallpaper and when i move the cursor over the zip file windows explorer turns off.i cant delet them.what can i do.

Has anyone else noticed that in Explorer, if you try to delete or move files (which is a copy followed by a delete), Explorer gives you that annoying message saying Access Is Denied, usually meaning that something has the file open?

I've figured out that most of the time, I simply have to click on a different folder in the Explorer window. It seems like the thumbnails or indexing service are holding up the file operations. This is highly annoying.

Should this be considered a bug? I'd think if you were to delete or move a file, Windows should be smart enough to drop Expl

can i delete the file windows.old i looked and its all the same?

2nd i have to two drives c; local driver and d: recovery files but when i click it says no files but its says 749mb free of 7.35, alsi hav i cant delete it so why dont have 7.35gb should i format it?
