Ok.. Some of you know that I have upgraded to Windows Vista but I just got bored with it and I want to reinstall XP.. So I reformat my hard drive and installed XP.. but after the installation there is an unknown hardware that needs installing or needs to be installed.. I don't know what hardware is it because it just say UNKNOWN.. Is there any way that I can know what hardware is it? I've checked the system's device manager for uninstalled hardware but there's nothing there.. it's all ok..

So I have 2 hard drives Installed on my computer and for some reason when i go into My Computer in Vista only one shows up. When I go to device manager though I can see both of them. What is going on and why can't I access the second HD.

I have a wireless lan PCI card and i installed and booted vista for the first time. installed flawlessly worked and i picked up my wireless network. I rebooted for whatever reason and my network was not being detected i checked the drivers in device manager and it had an exclamation mark next to the wireless card driver. I open it up and get error code 10 cannot start. So i start doing some research and find out everyone with this card on 64 bit vista has the same problem and one person's fix was to load windows in f8 mode disable driver signing enforcement. So i give it a shot and sure enough it worked.

Right, Ive got a nasty problem with my CD/DVD drive/s.As you can see in the attachment, the drive labelled."VOBID Instant Drive CD SCSI CdRom Device" is malfunctioning. Now I believe that is related to the Pinnacle Studios Instant CD/DVD SE...

i have intel 845 chipset with gr cadr 82845/G and i have upgraded my system from XP to vista. since then the resolution cannot be changed for the monitor. Tried downloading (through upgrade under device manager) but no joy. Help me somebody..do not...

In what order are you suppose to configure Vista? Once installing Vista OS where do you go from there? Check the Device Manager and make sure you have no exclamation signs and then where? Are you to then began installing your software or go and get...

If i try to open the device manager from the "My Computer" it just doesn't do anything like if i never clicked on it. it used to work fine when i first installed windows but not anymore, i can still open it from the control panel but i just don't get why this problem occurs.

Switched my old 17" CRT for a 19" Wide Screen. When I booted it up to update the driver the new *.INF driver, Vista said it had the latest drivers, but was referring to my 1900GT Radeon Video Card.

I removed the monitor from Device Manager and it started up in default VGA mode. It will not pick up my new monitor when I reboot.

Now in Display Properties, Drivers is greyed out...can't update. And there is no monitor on the Device Manager.
