Fado Irish Pub: Irish Drink, Food and Fellowship with a Western American Twist

Fado's is great place to take friends and visitors to Denver.
Of course as a Pub this place has an unbelievable selection of imported beers and ales. Happily they also have a fantastic menu. With almost a dozen great appetizers to choose from I rarely end up getting anything off the main part of the menu. When I do there are both American and British fare and every one of the main menu choices is more than I can eat by myself.

I am no longer surprised when in a foreign country to find a Morton's waiting to make me remember fine U.S. beef and home. Regardless of how big it is, every time I eat at a Morton's it feels like a hometown restaurant. That's how good the food and the service is.

A Greener Convention, A Greener Future?

Sat, 2008-08-30 13:32 - Topics:

Hot air from the speakers notwithstanding, the Democratic Party has promised that its national convention in Denver will be the "greenest" one ever. The party is working to offset the carbon dioxide that will be produced by more than 6,000 delegates traveling to the Colorado capital, with prizes offered to the delegation that can reduce emissions the most. The convention's fleet of official cars will use flex fuels — a mix of gasoline and less carbon-intensive biofuels — and 1,000 bicycles will be available for use free of charge.

Fat City a.k.a. Mr. Biggs is probably the must unusual entertainment spot you could every dream of. It's almost like a kid who inherited millions of dollars he did not need went absolutely bonkers when he designed this place. They say there is almost 145,000 sq foot of fun and when I first heard about it sounded like the biggest fish story I had ever heard.

Denver is not famous for a plethora of Piano Bars. I guess that is the reason that those that have survived are so enjoyably good. My parents best friend was a famous Denver piano man - Mr. Clyde Comnello from the Wheat Ridge suburbs. He often told us stories of the fun he had playing at various Denver Piano Bars, most of which are gone now. So in tribute to Clyde here is his list of the best Piano Bars in the Denver, Colorado area.

Le Central French Cuisine at Family Affordable Prices - a Denver Gem
Expecting high prices and stuffy service might keep many citizens of Denver from even giving a French restaurant a try. That might be why Le Central consistently rates excellently. The only thing French is the food and atmosphere.

Palettes Restaurant Fills the Bill - Most of the Time
Denver has a world class Art Museum. That Museum deserves to have a great restaurant to accompany the facility. Palettes space was almost doubled a few years ago but the quality of the food did not reflect much of an improvement.
