Hi. I have just upgraded my PC to Windows Vista Business Edition. I did lots of research before the upgrade to ensure my software was compatible.

One thing I didn't look out for however, and am subsequently having problems with, is installing PHP. I first tried installing the installer program for the version that my host is running - version 4.3.1. This completely failed, giving lots of error messages and file cannot be found warnings. I thought it would probably be best if i tried the most up to date version - v 5.something.

Again this failed, but this time the errors bombed out the installation, and nothing was installed at all.

forums, namely:
For background, I describe myself as an "advanced" beginner user in terms of
computer knowledge.

-Concerning WinRar: installed latest version (not the Beta) and allowed it through the

that. I must double click the file and open Winrar (which causes Vista

I installed vista for the first time it booted and started installation, it says NFTS partition required i convert my partition to NFTS. Software loaded but then starts the compatibility issue. It did not accept my creative soundcard. I installed NERO 7 it crashed and showed compatibility issues. Now microsoft said it built the software from ground level then why isnt a backward compatibility for softwares maintained as in XP.My first impression of vista is only graphical bells and whistles. Regarding the software front a compatibility with all softwares installing on this new OS.Its gonna be hard to play with vista, i still prefer XP right now and the worst of all to restore the NTFS partition to 32bit required me to reformat my hdd and install xp all over again.

Hi,

I have upgrade my Windows XP professional to a Windows Vista Enterprise on my notebook (Asus W1N). I had some drivers compatibility problems, but now everything runs cool.

Except one little detail :

When I boot my computer and the battery is plugged, my processor work at 100% of is capacity : 1.69Ghz (Intel Pentium M)

When I boot my computer and the battery is not plugged, my processor work at 35% of is capacity : 600Mhz (well this may be normal)
But when I plugged the battery, nothing append, the processor is always working at 1/3 of is capacity.
