New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson is the leading candidate for secretary of Commerce, according to a person familiar with the vetting process.Mr. Richardson, also a candidate for the 2008 presidential nomination, left the race shortly after placing a distant fourth in the Iowa caucuses in January.
