How to migrate from iTunes to WMP

Mon, 2007-04-30 16:40 - Topics:

Hi,
since my files are all WAV, they have no id3 tags/info, so migrating from iTunes to WMP is proving to be a hard task.
Is there any way to do this without having iTunes installed?

Musicbridge can do it but it requires iTunes and the media files to be on that computer.
However iTunes is no longer an option, since it knocked down my Vista install twice, requiring hdd formatting and complete OS reinstalation. Apparently there's some problem with iTunes+Quicktime, Vista and Intel Raid drivers - you can Google it, it's a very common problem.

Anyway, the main question is: how can migrate the information contained in the iTunes .XML file to the WMP .wmdb file?

"Internet Explorer has stopped working"

I'm having major problems with IE7. Everytime I try to open it it tells me "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and wont open. However if I right click and "run as administrator" it opens. I have tried resetting IE7, running it without add-ons, re-installing, everything! I have administrator priveleges too. As if that's not enough, every few times this happens i also get a message saying "windows host process rundll32 has stopped working".

I am officially stumped. Sorry for grumping, any help greatly appreciated.

I hope you can follow me here.....Here goes...

When i am viewing my pictures I can seem to view the files by thumbnail previews like I could do in Windows XP

Here is what I am doing....

Documents - My Pictures - Then I choose the folder of choice - then within the views you can see large, medium, or small icons, or view by details....

How the heck do I get to see the preview instead of the blue sky looking icons.

Help Please!

Silicon Image SiI 0680 ATA/133 Controller

Mon, 2007-04-09 01:29 - Topics:

Hi everyone,

I've got a Silicon Image SiI 0680 ATA/133 Controller for my IDE harddisc. It has always worked fine in XP, but when I installed Vista Home Premium, it won't show anywhere...

I've downloaded the latest drivers from the manufacturers website, I can also see it in the hardware list, but I can't access it in any way.

Any suggestions how to solve this problem?

Cheers.

No sound through HDMI yet

Hi all. I have an HP Pavillion dv9220ca, came with vista home premium. it also has HDMI output. I also have a samsung DLP TV with HDMI input. When connecting the two I have video but no audio. I've heard that those who've gone back to XP with the same setup have fixed the problem so I'm assuming it's an issue with the nvidia drivers for Vista. Has anyone heard anything regarding this? I'm holding off on going back to XP in the hopes that there's a fix or a driver update soon.

cheers,

Synchronisation

Thu, 2007-03-29 08:30 - Topics:

Hey,

Is there a way I can keep the 'My Documents' folders on my PC and laptop synchronised? At the moment I have to remember which files I've altered on one, and the manually copy the files to the other. It can be a pain sometimes.

What would be cool, is if I can run something on one of them, that automatically does it (keeping the most recently modified file if there's a conflict, deleting a file on my laptop that I've deleted on my PC, etc etc).

I could write something myself that does it using Java or C++'s net libraries, but there's got to be something in Vista I've overlooked, or simple utility on the web somewhere.
