Freezing Out Cancer
Patients with esophageal cancer, one of the deadliest cancers in the United States, have a new option: cryospray ablation. A gastroenterologist places a flexible endoscope down the throat of a mildly sedated patient. Sprays of liquid nitrogen freeze and kill the abnormal tissue, which sloughs off. In about four weeks, healthy tissue grows in its place. The procedure causes little pain and may cure early cancer.

"Samantha Who?" star Christina Applegate, 36, is free of cancer after having both breasts removed to combat the disease, the actress told a U.S. television news show on Tuesday.Applegate, who revealed her diagnosis for breast cancer earlier this month, had the double mastectomy performed a month after her diagnosis, she said on ABC's "Good Morning America."

ScienceDaily (Apr. 8, 2008) — Green tea is high in the antioxidant EGCG (epigallocatechin-3- gallate) which helps prevent the body’s cells from becoming damaged and prematurely aged. Studies have suggested that the combination of green tea and EGCG may also be beneficial by providing protection against certain types of cancers, including breast cancer. A new study conducted by researchers at the University of Mississippi researchers now finds that consuming EGCG significantly inhibits breast tumor growth in female mice.
