Mine only shows the progress bar thing on the bottom, and it's Vista retail.

Tried the new Boot Screen

I tried the new cooler (is that a word?) boot up screen. I did the .bak the changing of the file to users full, admin full, then msconfig check the boot thing (the check box vernacular escapes me now) but I followed it well I thought. Apparently not well enough though... Now when it boots it's got this ugly watercolor thing going on and if I uncheck the boot thing then it's all black. Have I created a special feature? in other words just leave it?

Thanks

Linux guy.

Quick Question

Okay, so my cousin's computer is all screwed up I dunno why .. she's running on Windows XP Professional ..

The error is: *** STOP: 0x000000ED (0x80EB84E8, 0XC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I know what the error means and whatnot .. but if I get Windows Vista Home Basic/Premium can I just install the software just by inserting the CD and turning off and turning on the computer?

Also, if and when I do this .. will the boot screen say something like press F2 to boot from disc? Or what is the key to press to boot from the CD?

Any help would be appreciated!
