Nvidia Graphics driver won't install

Wed, 2007-02-07 10:44 - Topics:

I spent 3 hours on the phone last night trying to get an Nvidia graphics driver to run. It keeps saying that I'm not running Vista and the driver only works on Vista. But I am obviously.

Apparently when I did the Home Premium upgrade, it did not dispose of the old XP recovery console, and Vista now thinks its a seperate OS on my hard drive. My computer boots to Windows Boot Manager and asks which version of windows I would like to run, but I know that there is only 1 on it.

Is there anyway to do a fresh install with an Upgrade disc? or do I have to buy the full version?

Partitions Querie and delete XP

I have Windows XP Home Edition installed on one 40Gb partition (D) and I have Windows Vista Home Premium Edition installed on another 40Gb partition ©. I select what OS to boot up on the boot manager. I want to delete windows xp and merge the 40Gb partition from that into the 40Gb vista partition to make 80Gb. I have been told that If I just format the xp partition and merge it into the Vista partition then my boot manager will malfunction and I wont even be able to boot up vista then. Can someone clarify my position here as I want to do it the sooner the better?

Thanks,James
