booting a cd within the vista UI

Hi all!

I've run into a problem, but I'm not looking for help...so it didn't seem appropriate for me to post in the "tech support" section. I've been having difficulty booting CD's/DVD's using the BIOS function, so I'm wondering:

I's it possible to boot a CD/DVD within the Vista user interface? More specifically, the WinXP install CD?

Just want to know the that question, thanX!

Windows XP / Windows Vista Multi Boot

Anyone, I need help on the following:

I have my desktop, with 180Gb SATA disk partition into drive C and D. Drive D being a logical drive.

I have Windows XP installed and running on drive C.

Now, I am adding Windows Vista and installed it on drive D, using the DVD boot installation.

Problem now is, if the Windows Vista DVD is in the drive (and computer is set to first boot from CD), the system directly boot to Windows Vista.

However, if the DVD is not in place, the system directly boot to Windows XP.

What's wrong? How to make it to be able to dual-boot?

Brand new HP PC - How to remove Vista and Install XP?

Hi all,

I bought a brand new HP laptop with Vista over the weekend. I want to remove Vista and install XP.

I boot my PC from XP CD but during the part where you select and format hard drives, XP displays a message saying it can't find any hard drives.

Is this is a known issue? Any fixes?

Thanks very much!!!

Installing Vista RC2 on Dual Boot PC

Hi there,

I have tried to install Vista RC2 on a dual boot machine (Dell precision) with Suse Linux 10. The CD install does not seem to boot up even though the Boot order is set to boot from CD.

Is there a way to create a Bootable CD for Windows Vista RC2?

Hope to hear from someone soon.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Ray
