BSOD MUP_FILE_SYSTEM

Hi,

I've just upgraded XP Pro SP2 to Vista Business. Other than having
Daemontools installed (stpd.sys problem) during the install, everything
seemed to go ok. Now that I've got it up and running, I have the following
problem:

One of my four users (the main account, my account) always gets a blue
screen of death when logging in with a message about MUP_FILE_SYSTEM error.
The desktop is never shown. All other users are ok and the system seems to
behave properly when they log in. When booting into safe mode, the problem
user can also login ok.

Third Party Firewalls

Hi, I just bought a brand new Dell Laptop and am making sure I am fully secured. I currently have Kaspersky Antivirus 6 installed as I love it as an antivirus. I also know I need a thirdparty firewall such as ZoneAlarm that I had on XP.

I downloaded the ZA beta for Vista however it will not let me isntall without removing Kaspersky due to compatability problems. I have now downloaded the free PC Tools Firewall Plus 2 however after installing and re-installing I had the blue screen of death 1 minute after startup (memory dump)

I was wondering if you know of any decent Firewallls that will actuaslly operate with my current system and not crash or have compatability issues.

Upgrade problems to Ultimate

Hi All,

I am a new member of the forum. I recently purchased a HP Pavilion dv9000t with Vista home premium. I decided to do the update to Ultimate edition. Well I validate the key and download the updater. It gets all the way through the install and on the initial launch after the completed update it bombs out with a blue screen of death that prompts an error but the screen does not stay up long enough for me to see the exact error. The laptop is then stuck in a boot loop but never reaches the desktop. I tried running it in safe mode and still no success. I am forced to roll back to the version I am currently running.

Vista Performance Issues

Hardware
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo (Conroe) 2.4ghz
Memory: 2gb Corsair DDR2800
Graphics: EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX 768mb GDDR3
Motherboard: EVGA nForce 680i
Hard Drive: Western Digital 500gb, PartitionA-200gb PartitionB-300gb (So I could have a separate drive for storage away from windows drive)

I thought my computer would be pretty fast, and it was with Windows XP Pro. I installed the OEM version of Windows Vista Ultimate and after a few mishaps with incompatable programs giving me the blue screen of death got fixed it was running okay. But for some reason whenever I try to multitask (copy a file to another folder and browse the internet at the same time for example) everything just stops as if the system had to think about it for a minute before letting me do anything else. It does this with anything I do and it is starting to frustrate me.

ATI and Vista

Upon Installing Windows Vista, I was getting the "Blue Screen of Death" and it would only appear for half a second. I could not workout why vista would not complete the installation until i got a glimpse of the blue screen before the sytem rebooted.. Apparently, there is a problem with the ATI driver that vista shipped. So, What i did was, replace the graphic card with an old one, and I could complete the installation that way. If you are having the same problem, follow the steps below:

Replace ATI Graphic Card before Vista Installation.
Install Vista
Do a Windows Update When Installation is complete.
