Low-power State

Pregunta.

My computer will no longer switch into a Low-power state from the start menu. My monitor will power down, but my box stays fully powered where it use to power down also and standby. I've tweaked my Services, Features, and downloaded all new windows updates; and that seems to be the point were it quit powering down properly. I've checked back though everything and can't find anything i've disabled that should effect my Low-power state. I have the must up-to-date drivers and bios version and no dice.

Vista 64 Bit Hardware Nightmare

I've been trying to install Vista 64Bit for many days now with no luck. I've been getting all types of bluescreens while installing. Off the top of my head I can remember 0x9c and 0x124. Since I've been getting these bluescreens I've been frequenting these forums. I think I've tried everything. I've tried going into the BIOS and disabling pretty much anything that didn't have anything to do with the computer actually functioning including my USB mouse among other BIOS settings I've tried to configure. I've also flashed my BIOS with the latest 1/15/2007 BIOS version. I've tried using different DVD drives and hard drives with no luck. I've even purchased new Kingston DDR2 533Mhz ram. If anyone can please look into my issue and shed some light on this I'd really appreciate it.

Slow networkings with Vista

Hi,
I have a pbl with my internet connection (ethernet and wireless): it works perfectly with my laptop (XP Pro) but is very very slow with my new Dell desktop (Vista Premium), would it be with Firefox or Explorer, with a ethernet cable or wireless (as a matter of fact, it worked fine first and got slower each day). In many forums, I read that it could be usefull to disactivate AutoTuning but it didn't work for me. I also disactivated Windows' Firewall without success.
If any one can help me...
Many thanks in advance,
Timothee

Bypass ACPI compatible firmware

Sun, 2007-02-04 18:12 - Topics:

Is there a way to have the Vista Installation bypass the ACPI compatible firmware requirement? My mother board has ACPI but apparently when I had a bad memory chip, XP chose to mark my computer as being a "Standard PC" and Vista won't let me install. I have tried everything to correct this but haven't been able to get past the error. I have upgraded the bios but nothing changed. Is there something in the registry that I can change? HELP!
