Firstly - no offence, secondly I post this in order to not let the consumer be consumed by a fancy alt-tab switch feature in vista.
Now as far as 3D desktop“s go there is no competition:

This is a real 3D desktop as opposed to a Microsoft toy desktop. Also this runs on my machine and the total resource footprint is a third of that of microsofts vanilla vista installation with no other software loaded.
I'm thinking about switching to linux, but there are one two things that make me hesitate.
Printer Compatibility: Lexmark z611
Program Compatibility: Photoshop CS2/3, Dreamweaver 8, Flash 8, and iTunes.
Is there any way I can make all of those problems probable with Linux?
Also, I'll be wanting to use Beryl (the 3d desktop thing), or is it XGL?, anyway, which version is best for the 3d desktop thing?
